County Fair

Last Saturday we spent a fun afternoon at the Fair:
We first saw the tractors:
Then this tree guy was really cool:

We looked at all the animals there (I love the big pregnant cows, B loves the baby piglets, Kate liked the bunnies, Jane liked the ducks that raced, and Bruce liked them all)

Bruce got to try throwing a "snow snake"

We rode a few rides (Dizzy Dragon)

The best part was cotton candy:

and Funnel Cakes!:

We all enjoyed the foot massage after all that walking:

We had a busy, tiring time
(we're wet b/c it started raining about 1 hour before we left)
Can't wait until next year!

More Fun in the Sun

Get prepared for more cute pictures...
We went to the beach

and swam with friends

Kate went on her first ride!!!!
We love the carousel!

Bruce finished more swimming lessons (his teacher was so nice)
Kate and daddy also finished their swimming lessons

We got to babysit this "cuddly" guy and the kids were SO excited!

Jane finished the summer reading program and when she turned in her calendar she had 50 + hours. They were so surprised and only had a prize for 40 hours so she got to write her name and stick it on the wall.

We went to meet Strawberry Shortcake and Bruce got his picture taken with her for the local newspaper (funny guy.) Kate wasn't so sure...

This morning we said "see you later" to some friends we really love!

Sum Sum Summertime!

This sums us up right now~
Eating peaches and enjoying the sunshine.

Bruce and Jane finish up swimming lessons this week.
This boy loves diving into our pool.

Swim Suits and Babies- that sums up Kate

Playing hop-scotch is always fun!

Other things:
Jane finished up a fun week at Science Camp. The teacher was so impressed with all she knew already he said it was a challenge to show her something she hadn't already seen or done.

Bruce wanted me to show this picture of him shooting a soccer ball. They just got new baseball gloves this week and have been having fun with B learning how to catch and hit.

Kate loves having everyone around and also playing with new friends. She's really good at going potty and she got free new toy from the Fisher Price lab last week.

I Forgot...

I forgot to post a Happy Birthday to my brother Jeff yesterday.
Happy Birthday!

I forgot to take ANY pictures of our friends Jason & Kara and their 2 beautiful girls when they came and stayed with us last Wednesday. Thank you so much for coming!

I forgot to congratulate my niece on her baptism last Saturday.

I forgot to take picture of B and Kate at their swim lessons last weekend.

I forgot to ... oh I forgot what I was going to say.
We are having a beautiful sunny week so far- LOVE IT-

P.S. Here are a few ways to maintain your brain:
1. Feed your brain- less fat, more antioxidant-rich foods
2. Physical exercise- it keeps blood flowing and may encourage new brain cells.
3. Jog your mind- Read, write, play games, learn new things, do crossword puzzles.
4. Connect with others- leisure activities may prevent dementia, be social.
5. Avoid unhealthy habits- don't smoke, drink alcohol, or do drugs
6. Protect your brain- wear a seat belt, unclutter your house, wear a helmet when cycling.
