July Trip Part 5- Smithfield & Quilt Show

When we came home from all of our hiking adventures we drove up to Smithfield to visit B's parents.  It was such a fun few days! 
On Thursday night we got to eat our traditional vanilla ice cream with sprinkles:
* We also did fireworks since it was Pioneer Day! 

On Friday morning we headed up Logan canyon to go fishing
 and canoeing (Jane, Grandpa, and I totally tipped the canoe and fell in- we were wet!) 
 Grandpa, Kate, and James fishing on the bridge:
 Of course we stopped to get Aggie Ice Cream:
 That afternoon we went to see "Despicable Me 2" - Loved it!
 For dinner they took us to Callaways for pizza. 

On Saturday morning Jane was determined to finish the dog puzzle-
(Mom we finished it again yesterday- thank you for it!) 

 We love you Grandma and Grandpa Damstedt!  Thank you for all the fun times :)
 On the drive back to Provo we stopped at the Brigham City Cemetery to visit the grave of Lorenzo Snow:

Someone I know helped judge the Springville Quilt show so I had to go see it:
 


 



July Trip Part 4: Capital Reef/ Goblin Valley & Friends

On Monday, July 22nd my parents and sisters and lots of  kids all went on a little trip.  
We drove south to Capitol Reef to go hiking.



 
 
 Dad got us all hotel rooms and so we slept and SWAM in Torrey. The next morning we packed/ filled lots of water bottles and headed to Goblin Valley: 
Bruce was in heaven- he could run and jump and climb on as many rocks as he wanted to! 
 We hiked the width of it, one side:

 We also got to go hiking in Wild Horse Canyon:

July Trip Part 3: Provo & Lit. Conference

Saturday night we arrived at my parent's home in Provo. It was so great to meet my nephew Lewis:

















That night we also went to dinner and then to "The Chocolate" with my cute brother and his beautiful wife:

Jane took LOTS of pictures of my neighbor's lambs too :

On Monday we went to visit Grandma & Grandpa Great!
 We also got SNOWCONES..

 For dinner we met up with part of my family at a Mexican restaurant- yum!
 
We also swam in Salem Pond-
 On Wednesday my sister finally arrived and she finally got Kate to paint her nails:
 On Thursday and Friday I went to a Children's Literature conference and we got to listen to very talented writers and authors.  Here is my mom and I with Erin Stead who illustrated "A Sick Day For Amos McGee"
 We also heard from: Karen Cushman, Jennifer NielsenTony M. DiTerlizzi, Sara Pennypacker
and my favorite Steve Jenkins!! He makes paper collages and writes books- click here.
 
Other things we did:
Bowling at BYU- 
 Jane made lots of potions & caught chickens
