Meet Lucy
The Story:Last Friday Jane came home from school begging us to get a chinchilla (someone had brought one to school.) Every second she was talking about it. I told her we'd go to the pet store to look at one and see how much they cost, etc... Turns out they are expensive and she doesn't get that much allowance- however parakeets were a lot less expensive.
On Monday she didn't have school so I looked on Craigs List for a cage- found one for $5, B took the kids to the pet store as part of Family Night and now we own a bird.

Love the cage and the whole set up. Good to see the oldest child commanding the resources of the younger ones.
I love Lucy! We had a couple of chinchillas growing up--now we may need to try a parakeet. :)
LOVE it! Never thought about a parakeet though. My kids are ALWAYS asking when we can get a pet. I'm happy they don't understand that we probably could get something small like a bird or fish..but alas that would mean one more thing I take care of.

Lucy is a beautiful bird! I love it! glad you chose it over the crazy evil chinchillas. And cute kate- nice nap!
