Tonight I took the kids to a local bookstore to meet the
Chris Van Allsburg!!!!!
I love all of his books and remember writing stories to The Mysteries of Harris Burdick
Bruce loves Jumanji, and Jane loves Just a Dream, Kate loves The Polar Express. I also enjoyed 2 Bad Ants, The Widow's Broom, Swan Lake, and I still need to read Ben's Dream and Bad Day at Riverbend and a few more.
He was in town because he just wrote this

WHAT?!?? I LOOOOOVE Chris Van Allsburg!! I used to "collect" his books! I wanted to collect them all- I think I had about 8 or so. Man- that is so cool!! No one ever comes to Nac like like that! Maybe I can get him to write a book about the pineywoods and then he will come out- that is so cool!! I'll have to check out the book.

You both inspire and exhaust me with all of the wonderful, educational, and fun things that you do with your children. I'm not worthy! You're amazing. I'm glad I can call you my friend!

That's the best long line you've ever stood in with your kids! So glad you did that--So glad he wrote a book about the Falls too. You also need to read The Garden of Abdul Gazagi and The Stranger. I LOVE to read Two Bad Ants and the Widow's Broom to classes. Can you tell he was a sculptor before he did books? Thanks for letting your children meet him!
That is so cool! My first and favorite Van Allsburg book is the Wreck of the Zephyr... I read it as a young kid, then forgot about it and did't find it again until meeting a very helpful children's librarian in Champaign 5 years ago.
