* * Extra Bonus- My friend Becky stayed with us a few days and when she left this is what she did in the guest room. She had candy hanging from the ceiling and this super cute sign! Thanks- my kids loved it!

Last Day of School and Summer Fun...

Yesterday we had a few playdates, we went to the pet store, (this cardinal likes our backyard so he needed some food :)

(we didn't see Cars 2, but Bruce sure wanted his picture by it
also I don't know why he keeps doing that to Kate :)

We love our BRUCE

It has been a BIG couple of days for Bruce.

Yesterday he got to say the Pledge of Allegiance in the morning announcements.Today was his Author's Tea (the end of year Kindergarten program) and he said his part and sang great!
Then we went to his classroom to look through all of his writing this year.

Tonight I took the kids to a local bookstore to meet the

Chris Van Allsburg!!!!!
I love all of his books and remember writing stories to The Mysteries of Harris Burdick
Bruce loves Jumanji, and Jane loves Just a Dream, Kate loves The Polar Express. I also enjoyed 2 Bad Ants, The Widow's Broom, Swan Lake, and I still need to read Ben's Dream and Bad Day at Riverbend and a few more.
He was in town because he just wrote thisIt's wonderful!

Kids Run 2011

This morning we met some friends and ran in the annual Kids Run.

We love this 1.8 mile jog around a beautiful park.
B and Bruce started with the runners up front and finished in 17 minutes.The other kids, some friends, and I took a little bit longer :)We all had a really fun time.
Kate even got to do a mini-dash before the race and took 2nd place.(she's in the blue tank and pink shorts)
She may be tiny, but she's quick!

I always look forward to my birthday. This year I'm I love it!

The morning started out with a early morning pilates workout and then home for some of B's delicious blueberry buckle.The kids picked out this awesome plant for me:Then I played with little ones all day and friends came to visit me (thanks Amy, Rachel, Vanessa, and Alison) and brought me such nice things- thanks!

I went on a little run:
The weather was so beautiful ALL day!

My friend Karen brought me a "cake" which we are all so grateful for (especially B because he forgot.)

In the evening we went to an awards ceremony for Bruce:

He won in a photography competition (and he's so happy :)

I watched a movie with Brad, talked with people on the phone, received many many emails and happy birthday wishes- thank you, thank you all so much!

It was an absolutely perfect birthday!
