Our New Stairclimber

We got a new stair-climber this week and here's a picture :

Happy Birthday Uncle Brandon!

Brandon is one of "the coolest" guys I know. We are so happy he joined our family team. He has amazing musical knowledge and his devotion to U2 is unmatched. Happy 1 year older and wiser too!

A Story of "Baby Cake"
Once my niece called baby Kate, "Baby Cakes" so it's kind of a nickname for her. Last Sunday I was making a cake and I had to go check on "the cake," but my other kids thought I meant to check on our sleeping baby- pretty funny. Anyways, when we were eating our cake that night our daddy thought it would be a great idea to give some to baby Kate, oh she loved it- so sorry, my baby has now eaten sugar before turning 1.

* My brother Stu is one of the funniest people I know. He is also very smart and I enjoyed having a room right next to his during High School so I could listen to his "music." I've always looked up to him (he's tall & plays basketball) and he was perhaps the greatest influence for me deciding to serve my mission. He married a beautiful woman and they have the most adorable daughter.

At preschool today Jane wore "wacky clothes:" 2 striped shirts, floral pants, striped shorts, and 2 different shoes & socks. She changed right when she got home so I didn't get a picture, but here's the Cat in the Hat hat she made. B said that on her way to school she was complained of how she only wanted to wear "cute clothes." I also did her hair wacky with 4 buns & 4 different bows.

It's 62 so we went to the Zoo!

Today was such a beautiful, warm day and we took advantage of it! A friend called and asked if we wanted to go to the zoo with them so we picked up Jane from preschool and went.

It was so fun! (Bruce was tired of posing for pictures.)

The kids didn't have to wear big coats, and baby Kate enjoyed herself a lot.

The newest animals at the zoo are 2 baby tigers that were born in October.

They were very cute.

My sister made a bunch of bows/headbands and sent them back with B- thanks Jo!

Our First Trip to the Carolina's

and we're back...
We're home again after spending a fabulous week in South Carolina/Charlotte!
The whole trip idea started when our daddy found out that he had to go to Utah for a week of meetings with very intelligent people and lots of fine dining. I found tickets for really cheap to Charlotte, so the kids and I went to see my brother, sister, and their 2 beautiful girls.
My brother met us at the airport and we all got loaded up and drove to their home. They live in a very beautiful place and were so kind to let us come invade them for a few days. I was actually feeling pretty sick from Saturday to Monday, and didn't have my voice for the rest of the time, but they took great care of me.

We played upstairs, downstairs, outside ("exploring the golfing")and everywhere in-between. One of the things I also thought was neat was the "Carolina Clay" the dirt there is RED!
On Tuesday we went into Charlotte to go to the Science Museum and we met my great friend Emily there with her 3 adorable children.

It was really fun to see her again, we still feel sorry for the adventure she had to take getting there, but we're glad she made it.

On Thursday morning we left to come home. We were sure to buy a Panther's football for Bruce before we left. We got quite the looks in the airports (1 mom + 3 kids,) but the flights were short and the kids did great! (2 of them slept most of the whole way back.) A wonderful friend picked us up in our car and we came home and slept.

Bruce has a really nice cousin who sent him a box today full of fabulous clothes! He wore, I think, six different outfits today. Thanks so much for sending such a big box! (The pants & shorts are going to be fabulous, not to mention the bomber jacket!)
