It's Fun Being One!

Her day started with a yummy breakfast of bananas and cereal.

Then we went on a fun walk with friends.
After that we took Jane to swimming lessons and then went swimming. Kate LOVES swimming now and has a great time. She also falls asleep in the car on the way home then sleeps for 3 hours in her crib- it's great.
Swimming Sweetie

B made her waffles for dinner and then we had her party with a lot of our friends and neighbors.

Her Cake
(those curly things were so fun to make)
(THANK YOU SO MUCH TO KATIE FOR ALL THE FONDANT TIPS)
All the kids couldn't believe we gave her the whole cake
She loved eating her cake

We had banana splits and they were sooooo delicious.
The invitations were something like
"Our little monkey is turning one and we're going bananas!"

We have so many kind and generous friends and even though no one was supposed to bring a present they did and Kate got a ton of wonderful things:
She got a Tigger Ball, a puppy that you pull, a glow worm, cow flashlight, Baby Einstein water book, Gallop, Eric Carle Animal Books, One to Ten book-so cute with ribbons, Infantino puzzles, The Poky Little Puppy, The Little Red Hen, a way cute outfit of pink shirt/khaki shorts, a so soft purple Gap onesie and purple bird, a very sweet white/pink dress, a purple dress and matching sweater and pants, and 2 beautiful bead bracelets.

Grandma Miller sent a SO soft blanket, a push and go caterpillar toy, 4th of July Jelly beans, and lots of other things for Bruce and Jane.
We'll celebrate with other presents that are on their way when they come.
She was pretty tired in the end.
THANKS YOU SO MUCH for all who came to the party and wished Kate Happy Birthday, it was a fun night!
THANKS to all of those who sent cards, emails, and called- Kate was so HAPPY all day and really LOVED her birthday!

It was good to see you for just a moment yesterday!
Did you get blown away at the party because it was too blasted windy at the pool!
